Top Five RTW Collections of THEE Illustrious New York Fashion Week

So last week was New York Fashion Week or for the purposes of this post, NYFW for short.  Designers from all backgrounds, major fashion houses and some small, displayed their Fall 2012 Ready to Wear, or RTW, collections.  Here are some of my thoughts and my top five of last weeks showing..

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta has been in the game for his fair share of time and is known to be a legend in the fashion industry.  He knows just how to perfect an evening wear look and how to make a woman feel like the most glamorous woman in the room.  This season he not only presented his collection to a small group of only 22 editors and photographers but he displayed some of the most airy and girly looks in a long time.  Here are three of my top looks:

Ballerina anyone?

Girly 101

Last look of the showing.. doesn't it look like she's floating down the runway?

Christian Siriano

Project Runway alum Christian Siriano is known for his show-stopping gowns filled with bright colors.  This season he chose to go in a different route, he played with muted colors for a quintessential classy and airy collection that any girl would give their right hand to wear.  Here are my three favorite looks:

Who doesn't love a classic black skinny suit?

White swan?

Burgandy was one of the top color trends for Fall.. no words for this gown, its.that.good.

Badgley Mischka

Badgley Mischka pulled out all the stops this season, especially with the Oscars coming this weekend.  They have always known how to put on a show right and they didn’t disappoint last week.  There is no doubt in my mind that at least one of these gowns will be on that red-carpet this Sunday..

Perfect print.

Simple yet with the perfect amount of drama.

Metallic is where its at.

Michael Kors

Genius, lifetime achiever, veteran designer, simplistic, colorful, all words to describe my man Kors.  Every girl wants to be friends with him and every girl wants to wear his designs.  Believe me.. I couldn’t afford one of his gowns if I tried but I am perfectly content with my pink patent leather MK wristlet..

I need a fur hat pronto.

Sleeveless trench with a sheer dress underneath? Yes.

Gold flapper girl anyone?

J. Crew

J. Crew, a name you might not pair up with high-fashion, it however is becoming a powerhouse in the game.  This season under Creative Director Jenna Lyon’s innovative eye they managed to show a youthful, colorful and exuberant Fall line.  I wanna scoop up almost every piece as soon as it becomes available..

Pinks on pinks on pinks

Burgandy again.. with yellow? Match made in heaven.

These are my thoughts, you might not agree but lets be honest at least every collection had a few drool worthy moments, I just chose to focus on a few of them..
